Half the Year Is Gone...Now What?
Can you believe we're already halfway through the year?
Somehow, six months have flown by.
For some of us, this first half of the year has been filled with incredible opportunities. We've celebrated wins, reached milestones, and checked off goals we were determined to accomplish.
For others, it may have included unexpected challenges, setbacks, disappointments, or plans that simply didn't unfold the way we imagined.
And for most of us? It has probably been a little of both.
Life rarely follows the neat timeline we create in January. Businesses change. Families need us. Emergencies happen. New opportunities appear. Priorities shift. Sometimes we accomplish far more than we realize, while other goals quietly fall by the wayside.
Here's the good news. The year isn't over. You don't have to wait until January to start fresh.
Stop Looking Back...Start Looking Forward
Instead of asking yourself, "Did I accomplish my New Year's goals?"
Try asking:
"What do I want the next 12 weeks to look like?"
That question changed the way I plan my business and my life.
Several years ago, I read The 12 Week Year by Brian Moran, and it completely changed my perspective on goal setting. The concept is simple but incredibly powerful. Instead of treating one calendar year as the measuring stick for success, treat 12 weeks as your year.
Suddenly, twelve weeks becomes long enough to accomplish meaningful goals but short enough that you can't afford to procrastinate. There isn't time to keep saying, "I'll start next month." Because next month is almost the end of your "year."
Four New Years Every Year
One of my favorite habits is using a brand-new 12-week journal every three months.
Every quarter, I begin again.
Fresh goals.
Fresh priorities.
Fresh focus.
Fresh accountability.
Instead of getting only one fresh start every January, I get four fresh starts every single year.
It's amazing what that does for your mindset. When one quarter doesn't go as planned, I don't spend months feeling behind. I simply begin the next 12-week year.
That shift has helped me stay motivated, adjust quickly, and keep moving forward instead of dwelling on what didn't happen.
Imagine Where You'll Be
Think about it.
If you intentionally focused on just one or two important goals over the next 12 weeks...
What could your business look like? How much less financial stress could you have? How much more organized could your bookkeeping become? How much confidence would you gain simply by knowing exactly where your money is going?
Sometimes we underestimate what consistent effort over twelve focused weeks can accomplish.
Your Financial Life Deserves a Reset Too
The middle of the year is the perfect time to pause and evaluate your financial systems.
Ask yourself:
Do I know exactly where my business stands financially?
Are my books organized?
Am I making financial decisions based on facts or guesses?
Is my cash flow supporting my goals?
What needs to change before the end of this quarter?
You don't have to overhaul everything overnight. Small, intentional improvements made consistently over the next twelve weeks can create remarkable momentum.
Your Next 12 Weeks Start Today
Forget about the goals you missed. Celebrate the ones you achieved. Learn from everything in between. Then open a fresh page. Whether you're running a business, managing your family's finances, or simply trying to become more organized, the next twelve weeks are full of possibility. You still have time to make this year extraordinary.
In fact...
You may be only 12 weeks away from accomplishing more than you thought possible. What will your next 12-week year look like?
